Cabinet Door Inserts
One of the most used rooms in todays homes is by far the kitchen. Open concept kitchen designs have turned this once cooking only space into the central hub of the home. With this openness to the rest of the home comes the desire to have a kitchen that is designed to not only be functional but also enhance the rest of the homes design aesthetic. This is generally done by the use of designer touches often used in the traditional living spaces such as decorative lighting or architectural details. Another way to bring design details into the kitchen space is by adding glass inserts to the cabinet doors. This is a great way to give your cabinets a more custom look as well as adding a creative design to the space.
When it comes to glass inserts there are many options to choose from. Which type of art glass you choose depends on what you want to achieve in your space. If you are looking to show off your nice dishes, clear glass or even a light textured glass would be a great option. Both of these options could also be done in a leaded glass design giving you more design detail.
If your desire is to block the view into the cabinet, this can be done with an obscure textured glass. Just like the clear glass, this can also be done in a leaded glass design. Another great way to completely block the view is to use mirror. This option can be done in regular clear mirror, antique mirror, or mirror with a leaded design. Mirror is also great for reflecting more light into the space.
Faux iron panels are another option for not only cabinet door inserts but also adding architectural details to the cabinets themselves. There are two ways to install these panels into the doors. The first option is to install it into the door with a clear or obscure textured glass or even a mirror behind it. The second is to install it right on top of the solid panel door.
Wanting to add a little sparkle to your kitchen, you can add a beveled edge to not only the different glass options but also to the mirrors. There are several different textured glass options that are available with beveled edges as well as the leaded glass designs. This is a great way to add a little bling to your space.
