Overlay art glass is a type of art glass that has the same look and feel of the traditional Leaded or Stained Glass. However, Overlay is built completely different from Leaded Glass. Overlay is created by taking a solid piece of clear tempered glass, which is a safety glass, and bonding the colors, textures, bevels, and lead to that piece of glass. The colors and textures are a milar film and applies to the glass similar to window tinting. The film also provides uv protection, heat reduction, and is air and water tight. The Lead is then applied to both sides of the glass giving it a finished look from either side of the glass.

There are numerous applications that are ideal for Overlay Art Glass. This product can be used anywhere from doors, windows, room dividers, skylights, cabinet doors, showers, and mirrors. Due to it’s structural integrity, it is ideal for projects with large glass panels such as large windows. This allows you to have the leaded glass look without the bulky brace bars.
