Sandblasted & Acid Etched Glass
Sandblasted & Acid Etched Glass
Both acid etched and sandblasted glass use abrasives to create a frosted look. Acid etched glass is created by using an acid treatment on the glass that creates a frosted uniformity smooth satin like appearance while sandblasting is done with a high speed machine that bombards the glass panel with sand which can create a more shaded dimensional appearance. Acid etched glass produces a true frosted look and is more economical than sandblasting. Sandblasting glass offers versatility in creating design effects. When using a thicker glass, the sandblasting can go deeper into the glass creating a more dimensional look referred to as carved glass. If color is desired, this glass can also be painted to enhance the design.
Both acid etch and sandblasted glass have a wide range of uses in commercial and residential settings. Some popular uses include showers, interior and exterior doors, windows, glass screens or partitions, cabinet doors, or even table tops and counter tops.
Its ability to control light and privacy while adding a sleek design to your space makes this such a versatile glass option.
